For 2018, the Urban Nomad Opening Freakout will be held on April 14 and 15 (Sat & Sun) at Taipei’s best outdoor music venue, Tiger Mountain. The lineup will have more than 30 bands and DJs playing on two main stages, plus amazing food, craft beer, a pop-up vinyl DJ stage, art installations and booths, pre-parties, afterparties and lots of new surprises! (We’re not joking about the surprises.)
The 2018 Urban Nomad Film and Music Fest is preparing to take place in April and May 2018, so hurry up and submit your work to Taiwan’s most exciting creative showcase! We are holding competitions for films — including short films and feature films — and music videos, with awards including NTD 50,000 cash prizes and video production services from Far East Translation.

基金源起為，2013年導演王男袱到中國拍攝《流氓燕》一片，有感於很多中國人權運動人士們在投入運動之餘，無力照料他們的家庭，孩子們缺少金源無法就學，因此成立此基金，希望為他們的孩子募款，替他們獲得受教育的機會。
Last week, the Urban Nomad team visited the 22nd Busan International Film Fest, where as a team we watched 43 films (see all our reviews in the Chinese version of this article). The cinema was a mixed bag, yet enjoyable with lots of big Japanese and Korean releases, and a very big year for Taiwan. Here are quick English language film reviews for 15 of the movies we saw.

The award-winning LGBT documentary “The Queen of Ireland” which premiered at 2017 Urban Nomad Film Fest will launch on GagaOOLala on Sep 1, where it will join another of Urban Nomad’s previous queer cinema selections “We Were Here” on the platform.
