2015 The 14st Urban Nomad Film Festival Awards Winners

2015第十四屆城市遊牧影展頒獎典禮已於5月17日傍晚落幕了。再次感謝所有出席的嘉賓、贊助單位、合作單位及電影創作者們！

今年無論長片、短片、動畫、MV的投件作品水準都相當地優秀，一部部精彩絕倫、創意十足的作品，讓選片人和評審們在看片過程中感到非常地愉悅開心！最後評審結果難免有些遺珠之憾，但請所有的創作者們千萬別懷疑自己的實力，明年再接再勵繼續投件參加比賽喔！

這次入選放映的長片作品共有5部，短片21部，動畫13部，MV10部。其中的短片及動畫作品，由影展選片人萬中選一地挑出決賽入圍名單：短片與動畫各4部。最後獎項乃由三位評審共同選出：紐約屋頂電影節選片策展人Dan Nuxoll、台灣知名音樂創作人朱約信(pigheadskin)、和電影編劇暨影評人楊元鈴(Kelly YANG)。

「大遊牧獎」 THE BIG NOMAD PRIZE

Prize: $20,000

Film synopsis: This city is getting worst and worst when three different personalities encountering in divergent spaces: the junior assistant brutally instructed by the senior cameraman, the real estate agency girl suffered cases of aborted sales, and the abandoned workers are blocking train tracks to resist…

Jurors’ Statement: 煉乳廣告＋房仲黑幕＋勞工抗爭，交織成一曲充滿性與暴力、政治與媒體的影像逆襲，豐富的視覺元素與多線敘事，多元探討城市與城市人的議題與困境，切合影展主題精神之最。

  

「遊牧評審獎」 JURY PRIZE

Film: 《雙喜》Double Happiness           Director: Ella Raidel

Film info: Ella Raidel / 2014 / Austria & China / 75min / German, English, Chinese / English and Chinese subtitles

Film synopsis: The Austrian town of Hallstatt is one of those postcard villages, a tiny burg by a pristine lake at the foot of the majestic Alps. It has now been copied building for building as a south China real estate project near the city of Guangzhou. Austrian director and long-time Taiwan resident Ella Raidel investigates the secret duplication of the town, the developer’s motivation, and the reaction of the bemused Austrian victims of this virtual theft. The film also poses larger questions, like: Can the entire architecture and history of a village be considered “intellectual property”? What are the limits of appropriation? And now that globalization is an inescapable fact, what other surprises will it hold?

Jurors’ Statement: 一場所謂正義、公平、與藝術文化的拉扯。導演似乎想要批判什麼？卻留下許多空間給觀者思考；只是單純地記錄事件？卻又來個回馬槍表明作者態度。相對於許多感動人心的影片竭盡所能地想要教導我們什麼，本片卻保持一定的距離，又近又遠地反覆思考琢磨。這是一部很奇妙的作品。

  

「最佳短片電影」 BEST SHORT FILM

Film: 《背道而馳》 Contrapelo     Director: Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Award received by Pin-Chun Liu, the producer of Contrapelo)

Film synopsis: A proud Mexican barber is forced to shave the leader of a drug cartel. As he faces the man who is destroying his country, he is confronted by a difficult decision: to become a killer, or to let this man continue to kill. By the end of the shave, the Barber will find out that he and the Capo are not so different.

Jurors’ Statement: 影像語言精準，有限的篇幅卻能蘊含複雜的內心掙扎與微妙氛圍，令人讚嘆。

  

「最佳動畫」 BEST ANIMATION

Film: 《病態建築症候群》Sick Building Syndrome      Director: 楊鎮宇、陳君典

Film info: 楊鎮宇 Chen-Yu Yang、陳君典 Chun-Tien Chen / 2015 / Taiwan / 4′ 2″ / No dialogue and subtitles

Film synopsis: Great oaks from little acorns grow. However, we are not always so practical. Sometimes lies light us up and lead us to the God’s world. Desire is our pastor, who leads us to the land flowing with milk and honey. Living in such modern city with numerous skyscrapers and tall modern buildings makes people insane and thirsty. Will the buildings turn into phallus? Why my penis transform its shape to Taipei 101? I don’t care anymore…

Jurors’ Statement: 隨著黑白線條與色塊的延展流竄，渲化為一幅充滿諷刺寓意與黑色幽默的現代城市清明上河圖，病得精彩！

  

「最佳MV」 BEST MUSIC VIDEO

Jurors’ Statement: 一般來說，MV與電影配樂相反，是為了服務”音樂”而製作的。但是《SCREAM》畫面與音樂的互動令人心曠神怡、喜樂滿溢。突然間會分不清楚到底這是”從音樂裡生出來的影像”？還是”從影像裡生出來的音樂”？也許正因為它”真打軍拍攝”的方式，才能產生這種迷人的效果。

  

「觀眾票選獎」 AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD

Film synopsis: Alexander Marcus III is living a wayward life, teaching English in Vietnam. When their father dies, Alex’s brother Bob travels to Vietnam to confront his brother about not coming home for the funeral. The brothers embark on a road trip to reconnect, but their adventure goes terribly wrong when they stumble into a mine field in the middle of the jungle and both are trapped standing on landmines left over from the Vietnam War. Now they must overcome the elements, jungle wildlife and their petty sibling rivalry if they hope to STAND long enough to make it out of the jungle alive
