What is punk rock? Or more precisely, what does punk rock mean today in China and Taiwan? Is it about rebellion, DIY attitude, and three-chord songs? Or is there some deeper meaning? This documentary follows the tour of Damali Baobei, a punk band from Jinan, as they travel thousands of kilometers through China and Taiwan, encountering numerous other punk bands and charting out what this subculture looks like today.

Portions of the documentary were shot at the 2018 Wake Up Festival in Chiayi, Taiwan, and it features Taiwan bands Wayne’s So Sad, 88 Balaz, No-Nonsense Collective and BB Bomb.
