That night, Tsai-Chen came out of the library and met Qian whom she had not seen for a long time. Tsai-Chen told Qian that she was getting married tonight. She hoped that Tsai-Chen could go to a place with her. Adapted from Pu Songling’s Liaozhai.

Scarecrow is an allegorical work considering a cyclical journey, perhaps never-ending: As a primordial character emerges from the soupy earth, a woman leaves the confines of a blind civilisation. Their paths move closer to each other and a strange creature bodes ill.

Because of his rebellious personality, Hao gets fired from his hair salon. He takes all his belongings to stay at Tod’s place. Unsatisfied with the current situation but remaining hopeful to the future, they try to do something to against the world and get the rewards they deserve, even they have to go separate ways.
